1. What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Inward:

• Your name and email address (via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In)
• Your date of birth (used to generate your personal Pattern Profile)
• Your gender (used to personalise your Pattern Profile)
• Your pattern ratings and reflection session data
• Your push notification token (to deliver personalised practice reminders)
• Your in-app purchase history (to manage your subscription and unlocks)
• Basic device and usage data (app version, session timestamps)

We do not collect your precise location. We do not sell your data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate and maintain your personal Pattern Profile
• Deliver AI-generated daily practices, affirmations, and prayers personalised to your patterns
• Send push notifications you have opted into (morning intention, evening check-in, weekly witness)
• Process and manage your Inward+ subscription and Compatibility unlocks
• Improve the accuracy and quality of the Inward practice over time

Your birth date and pattern data are used solely to generate your practice. They are never used for advertising or sold to data brokers.

3. AI-Generated Content

Inward uses artificial intelligence to generate personalised content including pattern descriptions, affirmations, prayers, and practice prompts. This content is generated using your Pattern Profile data. It is not a prediction, diagnosis, or medical advice. It is a personal practice tool.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure compliant with SOC 2 standards. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

Inward uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign-In — authentication (Apple Privacy Policy applies)
• Google Sign-In — authentication (Google Privacy Policy applies)
• Apple App Store / StoreKit — in-app purchases (Apple Privacy Policy applies)
• Supabase — data storage and backend infrastructure
• Anthropic Claude / OpenAI — AI content generation (data sent is limited to your Pattern Profile; no personally identifiable information is included in AI prompts)
• Expo / React Native — app framework and push notification delivery

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via Settings
• Export your pattern history

7. Children's Privacy

Inward is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately at privacy@inward-app.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Your continued use of Inward after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
